Wandering IPs

Installation process is quite straightforward. Vista/7 users should avoid to install Wandering IPs into folders that are under UAC protection (e.g. "Program Files" folder)

Setup Wizard is launched only at first run of the program. Its main job is to download GeoIP database and determine your home location. There is a possibility that your location determined by program will be different from the real one. You should then (but only if you know what you're doing) enter correct geographic coordinates yourself. Wizard accepts standard format of latitude and longitude, e.g. 36°18'12"N, 28°02'45"E etc.

When in doubt visit itouchmap.com and find proper coordinates for your location.

Setup wizard (accessed via start menu icons) is also used to update database and change your home location.

Use mouse to control the program. Hold LMB and move the mouse in any direction to rotate the globe. Zoom in/out with mouse wheel or PageUp/PageDown keys. Move mouse over red dots and LEFT click for popup menu to show up, then you have choice to traceroute to choosen location, perform domain whois for remote IP, show connection details: open ports, connection state and process name, analyze IP adresses extracted from any text file or display connections table [F2] which includes local and UDP connections (which are not visualized).

Note: routes do not dissapear even when connection is closed. To hide route choose 'Clear Route' from pop-up menu.

Tray icon gives you quick access to program's main functions. Right click for menu; double click to show/hide visualization window.

Button Panel shows up when mouse cursor is over bottom part of the program's window:

	Autorefresh. By default connections list is refreshed every two seconds. Use thisbutton to turn autorefresh on and off. While in OFF state, press F5 key to manually refresh connections list. [R]
	Implant into desktop. This will use part of desktop wallpaper as background for program's window. I'd suggest to put WIPs in desktop corner. Clicking this button has no effect in full screen mode. [I]
	Labels. Turns labels on/off. [L]
	Rotation. Turns globe rotation on/off. [SPACE]
	Connect locations. Displays curves connecting home and remote locations. [C]
	Full Screen. Turns full screen mode on/off. While in full screen you can also press ESC key to return to windowed mode. [F]
	Hilight Shadow. Lightens dark side of the Earth. [H]
	Only established connections. By default, Wandering IPs displays all connections, including these in defferent stages of opening/closing process. With this button you can display only established connections. [E]
	Options/About. In options window you can: load IP list from text file (one IP addres per line, followed by carriage return or linefeed characters) [Sample] disable internal connections monitor (e.g. If you're loading IP list from file and do not want them to mix up) change update interval adjust globe rotation speed make program's window to stay in front of all others windows on desktop save snapshots of window content at given interval change labels font change colors (try to avoid using the same color for different plots, it may confuse the program) change points size and lines thickness (increasing these values may help to make display more readable if your graphic card forces antialiasing. enable/disable program's internal smoothing routines enter registration code [A]
	Exit. Write current settings to the registry and terminates the program.
